The Department of Computer Systems Software (PZKS, which stands for the Ukrainian abbreviation of the Department’s name) of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was established in 2009. The ambition of the Department’s activity is the training of specialists in software engineering, as well as research work in the field of software for computer systems.
The first head of the department was Doctor of Science, Professor Ivan Dychka; headed the department from 07/01/2009 to 02/01/2015. In the following years, acting head of the department were: Ph.D., Associate Professor Tetiana Zabolotnia (from 02/02/2015 to 01/31/2018) and D.Sc., Professor Viktor Legeza (from 01/02/2018 to 30/06/2021).
As of July 1, 2021, the head of the department is Doctor of Science, Associate Professor Yevgeniya Sulema.
The department employs 4 professionals with a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree and 17 professionals with a Ph.D. (including part-time workers).
